In the process I return to four principles, keeping the brief in mind.

Research, stakeholder interviews, competitive audit, user mapping. Understanding the real problem before solving anything.
DEFINE

Synthesis, personas, jobs-to-be-done, information architecture. Finding the sharp design brief inside the fuzzy brief.
DESIGN

Wireframes — Visual Design — Prototypes. Iterative, tested at every stage. Aesthetics serve the behaviour, not the other way around.
DELIVER

Dev-ready specs, design systems, handoff documentation. And staying close to implementation — good design doesn't stop at the file.
